This change refactors GCC’s CRC calculation functions, calculate_crc and calculate_reversed_crc, moving them to hwint.cc and making them public. The functions are extended to handle arbitrary data sizes and initial CRC values, moving beyond their previous limitations of 8-bit data and a fixed initial CRC of 0. This lays the groundwork for implementing compile-time constant folding of CRC built-ins.
