New Malay translation submitted for binutils 'bfd' library
A new Malay translation file for the binutils 'bfd' library (version 2.45.90) has been submitted by the Translation Project.
The Translation Project robot reports that a revised Malay translation file for the binutils ‘bfd’ library has been submitted. The maintainer is encouraged to include the updated translation in the next release. The Translation Project provides infrastructure for volunteer translation teams to localize open-source software.
In Details
The binutils project uses gettext PO files for localization. The 'bfd' library (Binary File Descriptor) provides a generic interface to different object file formats. This submission is a new translation for the Malay language (ms.po). Maintainers outside the gettext and localization teams might not track translation updates closely.
For Context
Many software projects support multiple languages through a process called localization. Binutils, a collection of tools for working with binary files, uses 'gettext' which relies on PO files to provide translations for user-visible strings. The 'bfd' library within binutils handles reading and writing different types of compiled code. This submission provides the Malay translation of messages within the bfd library, enabling users who speak Malay to use the tools in their native language.
