AArch64: Relax test expectations for -fweb register allocation
AArch64 test expectations relaxed to accommodate register allocation changes from -fweb.
This commit adjusts regular expression expectations in several AArch64 test cases to pass when compiled with the ‘-fweb’ option. The -fweb option alters GCC’s register allocation strategy, and some existing tests had overly strict requirements that now fail under this new allocation method. The changes loosen these expectations without compromising test integrity.
In Details
Relaxes regexps in AArch64 testsuite files (ffs.c, frecpe_1.c, frecpe_2.c) to accommodate register allocation differences introduced by the -fweb optimization pass, which is not enabled by default.
For Context
- -fweb
- A GCC optimization flag that enables the "Web" algorithm for register allocation. This algorithm uses a different approach to assigning values to physical registers compared to the default method.
- register allocation
- The process by which a compiler assigns program variables and temporary values to the limited number of hardware registers available on the CPU to optimize performance.
- AArch64
- The 64-bit ARM architecture, a popular instruction set architecture used in many mobile devices and servers.
- testsuite
- A collection of programs and scripts used to verify the correctness of the compiler by testing various features and scenarios.
