Darwin vectorization tests adjusted for Mach-O.
Darwin vectorization tests updated to handle MAP_ANONYMOUS differences and ISA requirements.
This commit refines several Darwin vectorization test cases. It addresses differences in anonymous memory mapping definitions between BSD-like platforms and Darwin, ensures specific tests meet higher ISA revision requirements, and removes unnecessary xfail markers for 32-bit Darwin builds, improving test accuracy and compatibility.
In Details
Darwin's Mach-O object file format and SDKs sometimes differ from Linux/BSD conventions. This commit updates vectorization tests by locally defining MAP_ANONYMOUS to MAP_ANON where necessary, adjusts test requirements for ISA revisions (e.g., AVX2), and removes spurious xfail directives for 32-bit builds, ensuring test stability across different Darwin versions.
- Mach-O
- Mach Object File Format. The standard binary file format used on macOS, iOS, and other Darwin-based operating systems for executables, object code, shared libraries, and core dumps.
- MAP_ANONYMOUS
- A flag used with
mmaporshmatsystem calls to allocate memory that is not backed by any file. Linux usesMAP_ANONYMOUS, while BSD-derived systems often useMAP_ANON. - ISA revision
- Instruction Set Architecture revision. Refers to specific versions or extensions of a CPU's instruction set, such as AVX2 for x86 processors. Vectorization tests may require certain ISA features to function correctly.
- xfail
- Expected Failure. A marker in GCC's test suite indicating that a specific test is known to fail on certain configurations or platforms, often due to known bugs or limitations. It prevents the test suite from reporting a failure for that specific case.
- Vectorization
- An optimization technique where a single instruction is used to operate on multiple data points simultaneously. This is often achieved using SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) instructions.
